Datuk Seri Krishna Kumar graduated from the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth in the United Kingdom in 1992 with an Honours Degree. After a stint in the hotel management industry in Langkawi, Malaysia, he commenced his legal profession with Messrs. Sri Ram & Co., Advocates and Solicitors. In 1996, he set up his own legal firm under the name and style of Krish Maniam & Co, Advocates and Solicitors.
As managing Partner of the legal firm, Datuk Seri Kumar specialises on commercial litigation works and over the years, he has accumulated vast hands-on experience in the areas of company acquisition, due-diligence, corporate takeovers, buy-outs, mergers & acquisitions, corporate restructuring, issuance of equity capital, bonds, warrants, and other financial instruments.
Despite being a boutique legal firm, Krish Maniam & Co.does works for corporate organisations in Malaysia, Singapore, other parts of ASEAN countries, Sri Lanka, India, Greater China, USA and the United Kingdom. It also has affiliates in all major countries that it is involved in. The firm has also secured large account of foreign direct investments into Malaysia and was instrumental in many large foreign corporations investing in Malaysia.

Sebastian Chang

Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Sebastian Chang has over 25 years of illustrious working experience in the regional investment environment, in the areas of stockbroking, corporate finance, fund management and venture capital investments. As co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of CARES, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations and deals flow for CARES.
Sebastian began his career as Research Analyst with one of the largest stock broking firms in Malaysia. He subsequently served at the investment research department at leading international stock broking firms. He has also held a senior position with an investment firm with interests in corporate finance & advisory, venture capital investment with project portfolios spanning across Southeast Asia and the Greater China. He was also a licensed Portfolio Manager, managing a portfolio of over US$1 billion. Throughout his career, he has directly involved in numerous Initial Public Offer exercises and mergers & acquisition deals both in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. His most recent task was to turnaround an ailing Bursa-listed company, through a series of corporate restructuring exercises which involved loan restructuring, debt repayment, capital fund raising, as well as management re-organisation. Besides handing the local corporate finance assignments, he is also involved in several major cross border corporate deals in the United Kingdom and the Middle East.
Besides spending a large part of his career as corporate consulting in various capacities, Sebastian has also engaged his personal investment into several successful business start-ups, in the areas of manufacturing, power generation and infra-structure.
Sebastian had his education in Malaysia where he completed his High School. He then advanced his studies at the University of Mississippi, U.S.A. and obtained a Business Administration degree in 1989. He speaks and writes fluently in English, Chinese and the Malay Language. He is a frequent speaker on investment-related topics at local and foreign forums.

Dato’ Mat Hassan bin Esa

Dato’ Mat Hassan bin Esa graduated with Bachelor Degree of Statistics from University of Malaya and a Master in Business Administration from The New Hampshire College, U.S.A. Upon graduation, he started a long and acclaimed career with several large government agencies in Malaysia. He began his career with Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) or National Equity Corp in 1980 during its early years of formation, and subsequently rose to the position of the Senior General Manager. He was actively involved in the creation and promotion of the first Unit Trust Fund, Amanah Saham National Berhad (ASN) which is now the largest unit trust funds in Malaysia with a combined funds under its management of close to US$90 billion.
He subsequently joined Perbadanan Usahawan National Berhad (PUNB), another government agency, as Managing Director cum Chief Executive Officer. PUNB’s core business is to offer entrepreneur development financing packages to assist the Small Medium Enterprises. In 1998, Dato’ Mat was handpicked to head Perbadanan Nasional Berhad as Chief Executive Officer. PNS focuses on the development of middle-level entrepreneurs and the development of franchising activities in Malaysia.
For his extensive experience, he was once again entrusted by the Malaysian Government to helm the Secretariat of International Zakat Organisation (IZO) as its Managing Director in 2008 until his retirement in 2013. As an inter-governmental organisation of the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC), IZA’s main aim is to promote and support zakat institution as a mechanism for economic development, promoting solidarity and co-operation among Islamic countries.

Kuan Chee Kheong

Director – Industrial Consulting
Mr. CK Kuan holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Monash University, Australia. He started his engineering career in 1990 in the semiconductor and electronics industry in Penang, the Silicon Valley of Malaysia. He worked in various multi-national corporations such as Hitachi Semiconductor, Hewlett-Packard, Komag USA. Later he ventured into a paper and napkin producing company where he was involved in production, distribution and marketing. Under his stewardship, his team tripled the company’s revenue and profitability over a span of just two years. This career path has allowed CK to gain valuable first hand insight and problem solving tasks in a highly competitive business environment, by introducing MNC’s best practices, values and policies into a local company.
CK later joined as Senior Engineer a unit of government-owned Multimedia Development Corporation, involving in advanced fibre optic based multi-colour video display technology. He was responsible for the technology transfer and manufacturing knowledge to Malaysia. With this credential, he was invited to assume the position of Project Director of a Malaysian-based engineering company involved in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), which implemented LED display panels in Putrajaya Administrative City, as well as Traffic Control, Surveillance and Monitoring Systems in numerous expressways throughout Malaysia. For these successes, CK is frequently invited as guest speaker in many international events on the topic in ITS.
As Industrial Advisor to CARES, CK provides valuable consulting and guidance to clients in terms of high tech manufacturing processes and overall management of their businesses.

Chow Shern Wei

Chow Shern Wei graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Economics from Curtin University of Technology, Australia in 2011. Immediately upon graduation, he was attached with a Malaysian-based Investment Bank as Management Associate, where he was exposed to various departments within the investment banking and corporate banking environment, such as Corporate Finance, Equity and Debt Financing, Asset Management, Institutional Sales & Risk Management. He provides a crucial supporting role to the team in all corporate finance related deals.

Mudzakkir Mohd Zahidi

Manager
Mudzakkir (fondly known as “Jack”) holds a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Universiti Teknologi Mara Malaysia (UiTM) in 2016. Upon graduation, he joined a local accounting firm where he was involved in business valuations, financial and forensic audits for the firm’s clients.  During his two years tenure there, he also participated in numerous financial due diligence works on public listed companies and government-linked companies.  Jack’s current role is to support the firm’s corporate finance deals, in the areas of business and operations valuation, financial due diligence etc.  He is currently pursuing his Masters degree in Strategic Management Accounting on a part-time basis, as well as Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (“CIMA”) professional courses.
